Arthousegifts.com Recycling and Community Philosophy

We pride ourselves on beautiful packaging because we believe art and handmade objects deserve artful presentation. Presentation is everything. We also pride ourselves on recycling.
We know that “going green" is all the rage right now, but this has always been our philosophy and we go the extra mile to live it.
We employ the following practices in shipping, packaging and wrapping.

  • We purchase recycled stock.
  • Most of our gift wrap is made from eco friendly materials.
  • We reuse shipping boxes from other companies or from grocery stores and large companies that dispose of them.
  • We will only use boxes in great shape that meet UPS shipping standards. In most cases you probably would not even notice that the box is reused.
  • Most of our gift boxes are made from 100% recycled materials.
  • We encourage you to reuse our beautiful gift wrap and packaging elements by making them “too pretty to throw away.”
Because of the handmade and fragile nature of many of our products, we may have to use bubble wrap and peanuts for protection. We promote the reuse of these items and as long as they are clean, we reuse them too.

The energy and resources used to recycle products create another perspective or argument. Reusing things requires brains and human energy only. We are happy to expend our energy to reduce our footprint. It is rewarding to see that this philosophy is becoming more common every day.
